This redesigned course immerses educators from all disciplines in an exploration of global topics such as the economy, the environment, diverse populations, and the U.S.’s place in the world. Participants will discuss the importance of cultivating 21st century skills as they relate to K-12 education. Educators will gain hands-on experience with web-based resources for teaching about global issues in the classroom.
Over six weeks participants read, discuss, and reflect on the most important issues facing America and the world today. The course introduces educators to university and other resources for continued personal and professional learning of global issues. As a final project, each participant will present an action plan for their classroom or school to support the development of globally competitive graduates.
Four CEU credits are offered for successful completion of the course.
