LIONS Youth Exchange Program
The LIONS International Youth Exchange Program is a unique cultural learning opportunity.  Participants of the Youth Exchange Program must be between the ages of 15 and 21; be sponsored by a LIONS club; have a basic knowledge of the language of the host country; be suitable to represent their community, LIONS club, and country; and be willing to accept the customs of another culture.  Exchanges can occur in any of the more than 180 countries in which LIONS clubs exist.  Most exchanges last between four and six weeks.

AFS-USA (formerly the American Field Service), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has been a leader in intercultural learning for more than 65 years and offers international exchange programs in more than 40 countries around the world through independent, nonprofit AFS Organizations, each with a network of volunteers, a professionally staffed office, and headed up by a volunteer board. Program lengths vary from 2 weeks to 10 months.

Broadreach offers educational summer adventures for teenagers including SCUBA, sailing, marine biology, and wilderness programs in the Caribbean, Australia, Costa Rica,
Honduras, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Fiji, Egypt, and Mexico.

Cambridge Prep Experience
An Oxford Academic summer program for ninth graders designed to prepare them for high school and beyond. Writing and communication skills and an experience-oriented
course in western civilization.

Earth Watch
Volunteer projects throughout the world that focus on scientific investigation

A wilderness-based adventure program that offers a variety of carefully designed and safe outdoor expeditions. Adventure activities include backpacking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing,
alpine mountaineering, fly fishing, or sea kayaking in Costa Rica, France, Canada, or the U.S.

Nacel Open Door
Programs are available in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Paraguay, Poland,
Russia, Spain and Thailand. These include language study, homestay, tennis and soccer camps, theater, and horseback riding.

Outward Bound
A course involves wilderness skills training, expeditionary learning, working in small groups, environmental stewardship, solo experience, high-performance team dynamics,
and service projects. USA and international. Semester programs available.

Putney Student Travel
One month of travel, language learning, and community service.

Rotary Youth Exchange
Open to qualified students ages 15-19. During the exchange, students live with a host family and attend school. To qualify, applicants should be above-average students who have demonstrated
leadership in their community. All applicants must be sponsored by a local Rotary club and complete a written application and oral interview.

Rustic Pathways
Offer numerous exciting student programs in Costa Rica, New Zealand, Thailand, Viet Nam, and the Fiji Islands. Rustic Pathways specializes in experiences and cultures that are safe, exciting, and educational.

Spanish Language Source
This online directory of Spanish language schools both in the U.S and abroad is dedicated to the learning and teaching of the Spanish language. If you are interested in studying Spanish in the U.S. or abroad, visit their site to search by country, state, and city.  Programs include summer camps, private tutoring, cultural field trips, tango dancing, and more!

The American School in Switzerland offers language study programs in England, France, Switzerland, and Spain.

Wilderness Ventures
Offer combinations of carefully planned activities in a wide range of wilderness and outdoor environments located in the western U.S., Alaska, Canada, and several offshore locations.

World Learning (Experiment in International Living)
Programs include homestays plus travel, language study, community service, or ecological adventure (Chile, China, European Odyssey, France, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica,
Japan, Israel, Kenya, Thailand, Australia, Belize, and Ecuador).

Youth for Understanding
This program is a non-profit educational organization, which offers opportunities for young people around the world to spend a summer, semester or year with a host family in another culture.

Spanish Immersion Program in Costa Rica
This community-based Spanish language and culture program in Atenas, Costa Rica is ideal for academic student and teacher groups from different public school systems and higher education including community colleges and universities.  Their goal is to develop sustainable partnerships with very dedicated study abroad programs and co-create a very customized immersion program that aligns with high educational standards and goals of any school district/academic institution and departments.
