World View Participant Wins National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship

DSCN2065 (2)In 2013, Nicholas Gattis, a band director at Carmel Middle School in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, traveled to Costa Rica with World View. Three years later, Gattis is continuing his world travels, this time to Iceland! 

Mr. Gattis has been named a 2016 National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow. Selected for his commitment to geographic education, Gattis will travel with thirty-four other educators to Iceland for an 11-day exploration. Prior to the trip, Gattis will visit Washington D.C., where he will take part in photography and outreach workshops, meet previous fellows and learn from naturalists at National Geographic’s headquarters.
