Fulbright Teacher Exchanges has two great programs for K-12 teachers with deadlines fast approaching! Find out more about these awards below.


The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program provides an opportunity for K–12 educators from the United States to conduct research and engage in other professional learning experiences abroad for three to six months. Fulbright DA fellows complete individual inquiry projects on a topic relevant to education in the United States and the host country, take courses at a host university, and share educational practices with colleagues.

What Fellows Do
1. Design and implement an inquiry project related to education in the United States and their host country.
2. Build global networks of researchers, practitioners, and policy makers.
3. Exchange ideas and best educational practices.
4. Develop resources and tools that can be used long after the project ends.

Participating Countries and Territories
Brazil, Colombia, Finland, Greece, India, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, UK, and Vietnam. Learn about each one here.

The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program (Fulbright DAST) sends expert U.S. K–12 educators to participating countries to support projects in schools, teacher training colleges, government ministries, or educational nongovernmental organizations, as identified by U.S. Embassies and Fulbright Commissions.

What Fellows Do
Fulbright DAST fellows participate in short-term international projects, collaborate with colleagues abroad, and share educational policy and practice on a global scale. This program’s projects cover a variety of disciplines, and program cycles may have varying numbers of projects available for application.

Cycle 1: Projects taking place between June-September 2020.

Ghana: Increasing the Interest of Female Ghanaian Trainee Teachers in Becoming STEM Educators
Mexico: Sharing Innovative U.S. Mathematical Teaching Approaches with Mexican Pre-Service Teachers
Uzbekistan: Developing EFL and Soft Skills Education at an Uzbek English Language Summer Camp
Uzbekistan: Introducing Innovative EFL Teaching Techniques at an Uzbek Teacher Training Center
West Bank/Gaza: Training Palestinian Secondary School Teachers in Robotics Education
Cycle 2: Projects taking place from October 2020-May 2021 (application opens in winter 2020).
