UNC World View stands with the people of Ukraine as they defend their sovereignty. Russia’s recent unprovoked attack on Ukraine has disrupted territorial integrity and order that are vital for peace and security. As global educators, we support teachers, students and all Ukrainians and their allies in their quest for peace, justice and understanding.
Educators may consider using the following resources to discuss the events in Ukraine with their students.
- The Ukraine Crisis (The Choices Program, Brown University)
- Resources for Educators, Families to Discuss the Events in Ukraine with Students (San Diego County Office of Education)
- Lesson Plan: Contextualizing the Crisis in Ukraine (Pulitzer Center)
- Teaching about Refugees (UNHCR)
- Lesson of the Day: ‘The Invasion of Ukraine: How Russia Attacked and What Happens Next’ (New York Times)
- Lessons on Ukraine (PBS NewsHour Classroom)
- Changes to the Post-Cold War Order (C-SPAN Classroom)
- Teachers Help Students Navigate Misinformation, Emotions, History of War in Ukraine (Los Angeles Times)
