WORLD WATER DAY 2019 – LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND

World Water Day, celebrated annually on March 22nd, is a day of international observance that provides an opportunity to learn about water related issues and to inspire action to make a difference. Originally adopted in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly and launched in 1993, World Water Day invites participants to engage in activities that promote public awareness of issues related to water conservation and development.

This conference will shed much needed light on the current realities in the Gaza Strip, giving participants a deeper understanding of the context of these realities and offering concrete options that can better the lives of Gazans.

GLOBAL MIGRATION SEMINAR

UNC’s Jess Stanford, a North Carolina-focused demographer claims that migration has been a driving force in North Carolina’s total educational attainment. Between 1990 and 2016, the state’s population of working-age adults (25-64) with an associate degree or higher grew by 1.3 million residents. The majority of these individuals (70%) were born in another state or country (Carolina Demography, 2018).
