Global is Local: Pitt Community College

April 11-12, 2019 | This program is a collaboration between eastern North Carolina global industries, North Carolina community colleges and UNC World View. It will provide community college leaders and faculty a unique opportunity to hear from local industry leaders about meeting the needs in the competitive and ever-evolving economy.

Creating a Global Media Center

April 25-26, 2019 | The Creating a Global Media Center Workshop explores strategies, media content and technology tools to bring the world to North Carolina’s schools. The program is designed to help K-12 school librarians and technology facilitators better understand our interconnected world by learning with and through technology and relevant resources.

2019 Global Education Leaders Program

June 17-21, 2019 | World View’s Global Education Leaders Program brings together current and aspiring leaders from K-12 schools, districts and community colleges. Participants are led by expert university faculty as they engage in dialogue about key global topics and explore leadership strategies to support global education initiatives.

Buddhism in North Carolina Local Study Tour

This local-to-global study tour introduces K-12 and community college educators to North Carolina’s religious diversity through experiential learning and discussion. Educators will explore aspects of some of North Carolina’s diverse Buddhist communities through site visits and guided discussions with community experts and UNC faculty and staff.

The OVERBook Project on the Environment and Sustainability

K-12 and community college educators of all disciplines from World View partner institutions are invited to apply to the 2018 World View Fellows Program. This interdisciplinary professional learning opportunity will deepen educators’ understanding of contemporary global environmental issues and resources for teaching about these issues.

Spring through October 2019; Travel dates to Moldova are June 15-24, 2019 | The Moldova Global Study Visit Program includes a two-day spring workshop and orientation, an 8-day study visit to Moldova and a follow-up workshop.
