World View associate director for K-12 Julie Kinnaird develops professional development programs for educators across North Carolina and coordinates outreach and communication activities.

Julie develops programs that build educators’ capacity for a greater understanding of global education and global issues, and programs that showcase best practice and connect educators to experts and other resources in the state and across the globe.

She has led educator study visits to Brazil, Costa Rica, Eastern Europe, Ecuador, India, Nicaragua, Senegal and South Africa. She has also worked closely with North Carolina’s global education state leaders and witnessed the growth of global education in the state and nation.

Julie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and holds a Masters of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Albania for two years, teaching English as a foreign language in a secondary school and coordinating community development projects.
