World View Program Coordinator Susan O’Rourke researches global topics and writes articles for the World View newsletter; edits and designs program and outreach materials; and manages World View’s website.

Susan received her Ph.D. from the English department at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her dissertation focused on teaching early modern women’s history in middle, high school, and college classrooms. During her Ph.D. program, she taught composition and literature and mentored other graduate instructors.

Susan received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, where she majored in English and minored in government and Spanish. During her time at Georgetown, she interned with the education team at UNICEF USA and developed a passion for global education.





World View, a public service program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, equips K-12 and community college educators with global knowledge, best practices and resources to prepare students to engage in our interconnected and diverse world.
