International Education Week (IEW), November 18-22, 2019, is celebrated each November to recognize and bring awareness to the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Started twenty years ago as a joint initiative of the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Department of Education, IEW encourages schools, colleges and communities across the globe to participate or host events that promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange ideas.
