The World View Fellows Program is an intensive, interdisciplinary professional learning opportunity that deepens educators’ understanding of a select theme or issue related to global education. The program culminates in the creation of learning materials, lesson plans and educator resources created by the World View Fellows.

The Sustainable Development Goals for a Better World

In 2015, 193 countries adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework of objectives for achieving sustainable development, including economic development, social inclusion and environmental sustainability. World leaders proposed this call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, combat inequalities, and to promote peace and for prosperity for all.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a framework, not only as a course of action to better the world, but for educators to introduce and integrate global themes in classrooms by learning about global issues and their solutions that impact communities across the globe. The 2022-2023 UNC World View Fellows will gain a deeper understanding of the SDGs and the goals’ interdependence, and the need for integrated solutions. Fellows will be develop curriculum that further integrate global issues into the classroom.
