In February 2019, members of the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies will elect:

  • 3 members to the Board of Directors
  • 1 Treasurer
  • 1 President-Elect

The NCCSS needs extraordinary social studies educators to help lead this professional organization. The typical commitment is 4-5 Saturday meetings per year and board members are expected to purchase a membership for the National Council for the Social Studies (approximately $75). Travel expenses are reimbursed for meetings and are set at the state rate. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved with our organization on the state level, here’s your chance!

What are the office responsibilities?

Board of Directors (3 year term; 3 open seats)
Guide the direction of NCCSS and be a part of the decision-making process; Attend regular meetings as scheduled; Participate in committees; Attend and assist with state NCCSS Conference in February or March
