World View offers educators additional workshops and fellowships. Below are our current offerings.
- World View Fellows Program
The OVERBook Project on the Environment and Sustainability (July through December 2018)
K-12 and community college educators of all disciplines from World View partner institutions are invited to apply to be a World View Fellow. This interdisciplinary professional learning opportunity will deepen educators’ understanding of contemporary global environmental issues, and will culminate in the creation of study guides with educator resources in connection with the Population Institute’s OVERBook. This selective program will accept a total of 12 fellows.
- Local Study Tours
Local-to-global study tours introduce K-12 and community college educators to North Carolina’s religious diversity through experiential learning and discussion. Educators will explore aspects of diverse communities through site visits and guided discussions with community experts and UNC faculty and staff.
- Creating a Global Media Center Workshop
Examine emerging technologies and media content that brings the world to K-12 classrooms and schools during our annual K-12 workshop for library media coordinators, The program helps educators better understand today’s interconnected world by learning with and through technology. Media center workshops also offers resources and hands-on strategies to increase and improve content, collection and integration of global themes in the library.
